In several voice performances Teater Viva has worked with a crying choir.

I have been inspired by the very old traditions throughout the world,

where women lamented in groups as parts of the collective passages in human life.

Deaths and burials but also births and weddings and departures for the war.

In 2018 is was a great pleasure to travel to Helsinki, Finland with my friend and colleague

Sanne Storm and meet the grand old lady of the art of lamenting in Finland Pirkko Fihlman.

We started a cooperation between Filhman and Teater Viva and the following year 2019,

Pirkko came to Aarhus and formed part of the festival of Teater Viva: Singing Our Place Festival 2019.

We are now working together in the project Breath.
